I finally realized what I want to be when I grow up... a social worker. However, that would require me going back to school and that is NOT going to happen. Too bad. I think I would have really been good at it.

Any suggestions on what I should do for the time being? I, along with thousands of other women, wish that you got paid for being a mother. If that were the case, we would have babies immediately. Again, too bad.

haha weird that u say that since i am looking at doing social work...great minds think alike! what about working in a after-care house that works with victims of sex trafficking?? i know they have one in nashville (im looking into going to that one as well!). Read the book Not For Sale... it will make you want to go save them all!

fyi -

my mom volunteered for two years a volunteer caseworker to alleviate stress and oppression on famlies that engaged families to provide better home lives for their children.

two years in she was asked to go on staff. she's been doing it for over 5 years.

you definately dont have to go back to school. id say get involved, whether joining a coalition, organization or volunteering - and your heart is what gets you to where you want to be. you can never officially call yourself a "social worker" but hell, who cares. i can't either and i've been in the field over two years. it..doesnt...matter.

then if you volunteer, get on staff somewhere, then most likely, they will pay your way through school. you just have to pay it back normally (govt agencies).

dont give up because we need compassion in the field that have the knowledge and hearts of Jesus -

you are the best. thinking about you -
